Avoid High Temperatures
A lot of people are not aware that the lash extensions are made from a plastic fibre and are curled and set in place in the manufacturing process. Therefore, if they come into contact with high temperatures this can cause the curl to relax and leave you with straighter lashes than you originally had. You can also melt the tips of the lashes if the heat is too close of too high leaving you with frazzled lashes! This can occur with the regular use of steam/ sauna rooms, opening ovens and having the rush of hot air, lighters, fires. If this happens it could mean that your lash tech will have to remove all of your lashes and apply a fresh set.
Oil Based Products
Eyelash extension glue can be easily broken down with oil. This can include natural skin and hair oils, eyeliner, mascara, eye creams, serums, moisturisers, setting sprays and more. It is essential to avoid the use of products containing oils and if using them to do so with care. This is also why it is important to keep the clean with a suitable eyelash extension cleanser.
Touching and Rubbing Your Lashes
You may not even realise that you’re touching, rubbing, picking or pulling at your lashes. You could even be asleep when doing so. However, if you are doing this it could cause your lashes to prematurely fall out. This could be due to the oils transferring from your hands and fingers and you could be gradually puling your natural lashes out with the extensions. This is extremely damaging and can cause permanent loss of eyelashes.
