Laser Hair Removal Introduction
Exciting news! We are now offering Laser Hair Removal treatments in the salon. Who’s ready to be hair free by summer?
I though I would post this blog to explain how the treatment works and hopefully answer any of your questions.
Laser hair removal works as the melanin (pigment) in the hair absorbs the light and produces heat. This heat damages the hair follicle in such a way to inhibit regrowth (it damages the stem cells in the bulb and naturally fall out over 1-3 weeks).
A course of minimum 8-12 sessions is recommended to see maximum results. Maintenance sessions are likely to be needed depending on the area being treated and personal conditions.
Before each sessions you would need to shave the area being treated (recommended 24 hours before) and come to your appointment with no products on the area. You are unable to use fake tan or sunbeds or be exposed to direct sunlight (sunbathing) for two weeks prior to your appointment and two weeks following treatment. This is due to the change in pigment in the skin could effect how the laser works and can cause complications. Following treatment it is important to keep the area cool and avoid any extreme heat such as swimming, steam rooms and saunas, hot showers and baths.
I hope this has helped you understand a little more about our new treatments! Do not hesitate to contact us with any more questions. Book a free consultation on our website now!
